The Mission of The Evangelical Covenant Church

Identity and Biblical Mission

We are united by Christ in a holy covenant of churches empowered by the Holy Spirit to obey the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20);

To love God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind,
To love our neighbor as ourselves, and
To go into all the world and make disciples

Vision for Mission

We covenant:

To cultivate communities of worship committed to: prayer, preaching and study of the Word, the celebration of the sacraments, and fellowship across gender, race, age, culture, and class.

To equip loving, giving, growing Christians worldwide to reach out with the good news of Jesus Christ - evangelizing the lost, ministering to those in need, and seeking justice for the oppressed.

As a member of the Evangelical Covenant Denomination we ascribe to the core enduring values of the ECC (4 ‘ALs’):

BiblicAL - Authority of Scripture

“Where is it written?”
Lived out by study and personal transformation by the impact of the Word.

ConnectionAL - Importance of fellowship with one another

“I am a friend of all that fear the Lord.”
Lived out by realizing the unity of the Body.

MissionAL - Going out into the world

“God wants to see lost people found and hurting people helped.”
Lived out by reaching people for Christ worldwide with deeds and words of compassion and hope.

DevotionAL - Intimacy with God

“How goes your walk with Christ?”
Lived out by developing an intimate relationship with God.
