What is your mission in life?

Outreach

Zion takes seriously God's call to meet not only the spiritual needs of people, but also their physical needs.  This desire for outreach takes different forms--helping other agencies who do the primary work of meeting needs;  personal involvement by members of Zion;  and direct donations of money & gifts.

Drawing from Matthew 28:19-20 and Matthew 5:16, Zion defines Outreach and Missions as
doing good works which meet the spiritual and/or physical needs of people in order to make disciples of all nations, and teach disciples to be fully obedient to Jesus Christ.

Each year the spiritual leaders of Zion (the "Consistory" made up of elected Elders and Deacons) make prayerful decisions regarding mission trips, projects, and good works programs.  The goal is to discern what God is doing and to faithfully join in!

We partner with these agencies:

ScoutReach Sponsor - Jefferson and Washington Schools

Our most recent endeavor is the PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY.

Habitat For Humanity has their office in our church building on the second floor. If you would like to go on a Habitat work trip, please let us know.  Sometimes a "working" vacation helping others does one good for the soul.
